Fieldbay wins the Excellence in Learning and Development award

A partnership between the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s GWLAD project (Growing Workforces Through Learning and Development) and Fieldbay Ltd has been recognised with an award from the CIPD for outstanding training and development.

The successful partnership between the University’s GWLAD project and Fieldbay Ltd won the Excellence in Learning and Development award.

“I am very pleased to receive this award,” said Aldo Picek, Training Manager at Fieldbay.  “Outside recognition of the GWLAD team’s work with Fieldbay is important to us. Our Leadership Academy has taken a lot of dedicated hard work from both organisations and we are already planning for our next cohort! This will spur us on.

Nick Samuel, a lecturer with GWLAD who’s been managing the project with Fieldbay also commented

“Working with Fieldbay in developing this Leadership programme for their Leadership Academy has been thoroughly enjoyable. I'm fortunate to work with talented Lecturers who were able to take the basic concepts agreed with Fieldbay and turn them into a lively, proactive programme of study.

“The programme leads the participants through a journey from understanding themselves and others, understanding their leadership style, getting the best out of their team, planning workloads and culminating with how to handle issues - when things go wrong. Any experienced leader would agree that these are the key elements required to be an effective leader at the highest level. The programme is generic in nature and can be tailored to suit any organisation in any sector. For the CIPD to recognise its importance in meeting Fieldbay's Learning and Development needs, is really gratifying”.
